Tarot Tuesday
There’s nothing as valuable as second chances. Or, better yet, knowing you have them.
So often we sit in indecision, fearing to step out and take a chance. What if I fail? What if no one likes me (my creation)? What if…?
Mutable Moon. Nothing is yet set in stone. Aside from pointing out the possibility that the opposite, What if I succeed?, might be the outcome, today’s card suggests that there’s always the “Do over” or “correction” opportunity.
More importantly, outcomes are not always as they seem. Change can happen instantaneously. A man was passed over for a promotion he desired—again. It was Friday. He went home and wrote a resignation letter over the weekend. He also called his astrologer who, after a reading, advised him to wait one week before submitting his letter.
The following Friday he’s on his way to Human Resources when he receives a text to report to his department chair immediately. He’s told his boss “is leaving” and he is offered the position—a far bigger promotion than the one he had hoped to receive the week before.
When my daughter was in middle school, she was wait-listed at a summer ballet program she had hoped to attend. Her best friend was accepted. To say she was crushed would be a huge understatement.
Trying to comfort her, I said, “When things don’t turn out the way you want, it’s because there’s something better for you on the way.”
Several weeks later she was accepted and offered a scholarship to another ballet program, which in truth she much preferred. Had she been accepted in the first program she heard from, I would have sent my sizeable nonrefundable deposit to hold her place.
For her to then accept the second offer would have meant losing that deposit, which was not something I could’ve managed at the time as a single mother with two teenage children.
Pulling this card means that right now we are all experiencing the energy of the Mutable Moon. It suggests that there’s still opportunity waiting to crystallize into form. Give it a chance.
