Have You Set Your Word for 2026?
Selecting a word sets the intention. Here's how to zoom in for yours.
The Farsighted Observer Shifts Her Focus

For 2026, I’m zooming in to spotlight the forefront.
Not giving up my farsighted view—I physically can’t. But I can adapt my zoom lens for the close-up view. And that’s what the image at top represents to me. It’s telling me to shift my focus from big-picture macro view to close-up micro perspective—at least for now, for this year.
When I look at the photo, I see a dark background lit only by the moon, a celestial body. A street lamp illuminates the forefront, providing detailed, clear vision of what’s directly in front of me.
The download I received was, Don’t be concerned with the darkness of the perimeter. Heavenly bodies are present to rule the outer realm. Focus your attention on creating clarity in the moment—that’s where human power resides.
I’ve chosen focus as my word for 2026 to help me remember to zoom in from my farsighted, big-picture viewpoint. To focus my attention on the details within the larger scene. And to remember that inner vision is as important as the macro view, maybe even moreso.
I believe focusing on oneself and what the self can achieve is a universal message for 2026, not solely for me. That these times asks each one of us to focus on the present and not get lost in doom prophesizing, which can only serve to steal your power.
And just as the streetlamp spotlighted an area of focus in the photo, sometimes you need something or someone to help clarify your vision.
Your Word for the Year Ahead
2025 brought monumental change on multiple levels, and many people are simply trying to regain balance in life. The end of a year often gives rise to both retrospective and prospective evaluations. I urge you to set aside some time in the next week to first examine what needs wrapping up, closing out, letting go.
2025 is a “9” year (2+0+2+5=9), or year of completion. End it that way.
2026 is a “1” year (2+0+2+6=10 and 1+0=1), or year of beginning. Start it that way.
It’s not about a new year’s resolution or setting a goal for a specific outcome. Focus on what you want to have emerge for yourself.
What personal trait or characteristic do you need to bring forth to create your vision for 2026? That’s your word.
Courage? Strength? Resilience? Persistence? Patience? Put your word in the comments!
How My Word Will Manifest in 2026
To begin, the name of this publication will change to match my new approach. And I will give you a heads-up before the new year, so when you see the new title in your email box, you don’t mark or delete it as spam!
And with my focus on clarity, I’m narrowing the scope of my services to practices that clear energy and create clarity for individuals and their environments. This will include intuitive readings to pinpoint blockages and energy clearing practices to remove them.
Energy clearing (healing) as a practice can take many forms. I’m excited to be introducing some new services in 2026. More details to come in the next few emails!
There’s still plenty of time to close out 2025 and get ready for 2026. But it is that time of year when time seems to disappear even faster than usual. So put yourself on the top of the to-do list. That’s the only way you won’t get lost in the blur of the next several weeks.
Please do share your word (once you decide) in the comments or reply to this email.
If you want to jumpstart the process with some divination guidance, book an online reading or, if local, visit me on Saturday, December 13 at Energetic Experiences, located at 81 Weaverville Rd, Suite 2, Asheville, for an in-person session.
I look forward to seeing you virtually or face to face very soon! As always, I hope this message supports you on your journey.
Until next time… My best, Shelley

Hi Shelley, your message resonated 100%, and that download you received, I've been receiving the same message! Thank you for sharing! My word for 2026 is AUDACITY. As someone who has struggled to shine my light in the world, similar to your message, it's time for me to focus my attention on creating what shines forth unique from me, not what I think I "should" do to fit in, or to be seen as "successful" or even "normal". And as I enter fully into this new awareness, this new understanding of the importance of shining my light to the world (where our human power resides, as your download said), to embody this awareness and have it reflect in my 3D world, I have had to release a lot of ideas that have kept me tethered to old ways of thinking and being. One thing I'm doing different this new year is going part-time at my job. That has been a while in the making and came with my own internal tug of war - do it / don't do it - and all the reasons - and finally choosing myself over it, and choosing more time to create, even if this chosen path isn't as clear as 'go to work/follow rules/get paid'. The AUDACITY!! Hence, my word of the year!! The AUDACITY to choose myself. Cheers to 2026!
I decided my word for 2026 is LOVE. I mentioned this on my FB post, but I want to judge less, and love more. I hope I find a new love relationship, but my word is for everyone and everything. I have become more sensitive, even when I see road kill. I feel so sad and say a little prayer for it. Anyway, it's easy to judge someone's actions, but we never know what they are dealing with. I'm going to love them anyway! Oh! One more thing...I want to LOVE myself more. Give myself a break once in a while!
