I’m big on having a word for each year. To me, it’s more important than setting goals…choosing a word is setting an intention. An intention sets the stage for bringing goals and ideas into manifestation. It’s the why.
Vibration, my personal 2024 word, came to me several weeks ago. But I was curious about how it fit into the overall emerging energy of the planet. Hence, a reading for the collective.
I gave the preparation for this reading the extra ritual it deserved. First, I chose two possible decks for the reading and used an amethyst pendulum to select which deck to use. I cleared the area and the deck with palo santo. I lit a gemstone candle and surrounded the area with stones of protection.
Then I asked, “What word will best serve the Collective in 2024?” As it turned out, the cards offered up a two-word compound signifying the major theme of the new year:
Planetary Cycles. At first, I frowned. I asked for a word, not two. Then the Universe (or perhaps Archangel Sandalphon) gave me a not-so-gentle smack to the forehead to loosen my Third Eye sensibilities. Of course! Planetary Cycles is the perfect theme to guide us in 2024. We are in the early years of the Age of Aquarius and already feeling the energy shifts of this significant planetary cycle.
What does that mean on Earth? It means paradigm shifts in a major way—like when Copernicus revealed evidence that the earth revolves around the sun, not the other way around. Or when Henry VIII defied the Pope and started the Church of England. Mega change on a global basis. Paradigm shifts that change everything.
We are witnessing challenges to and the crumbling of the old ways. How can you tell? By the severe, reactionary responses to the calls for change, fairness, and true justice for all. Those in power see the writing on the wall and are digging in deep to keep what they have for as long as possible.
But most likely, that’s not your battle. Your focus must be on how to create stability and yet still thrive in the midst of groundbreaking change. The pandemic of 2020 was the first global wake-up call and more are on the way. This card indicates it’s time to learn to go with the flow and embrace change for the better—on both personal and collective levels.
Freedom is light and cannot be contained.
If you’ve ever had your voice or creativity stifled, if you’ve been told you’re too thin, too fat, too young or too old, not smart enough…or just not enough—2024 is your year, baby. Change is here now for the taking.
And that’s the caveat: you have to take the opportunity and run with it. 2024 is not the year for playing it safe in the old way because now “safe” has a whole new meaning. Safe now means being fluid, not rigid. Safe now means being open to new ideas and ways of doing things.
And why is the meaning of safe being turned on its ear? Because the whole world as you know it is being turned upside down. Will it all happen in 2024? Probably not, but this year will see major headway into the ways of the Aquarian Age as well as major reactionary response.
It’s not if change occurs; it’s when. While it is wise to buckle up and perhaps wear a protective helmet in anticipation of some unsettling times, it’s also the wisdom of the stars and angels to do so with open arms.
Those who don’t will fall away with the old paradigm. Just remember, you might be ready and willing to step into the New Earth, but you cannot take your baggage with you. You must leave that old stuff that’s weighing you down behind. Freedom is light and cannot be contained.
I invite you to set your own word for 2024. If nothing comes to mind, try Shift. “Shift” will help you prepare, stay grounded, and yet evolve with the changes.
