Not for nothing, November...
Transformation brings you home.
“November always seemed to me the Norway of the year. The noons are more laconic and the sunsets sterner…” —Emily Dickinson
“November is the most disagreeable month in the whole year.” —Louisa May Alcott
Though both the beloved poet and the author of Little Women may have cast aspersions at the eleventh month, November 2025 promises to support you—if you know how to deal with the current energy.
November. Past, Present and Future
For me personally, November brings both sorrow and joy. It is the month that brought the loss of my husband and oldest brother in consecutive years at the onset of this decade.
It’s also the month that brought the birth of my son and firstborn child at Thanksgiving several decades ago. Bitter and sweet memories, indeed.
Yet these times are like nothing before and it serves us to look ahead, while bringing the wisdom of our own experience and that of the ancients with us.
And that’s what this Spread for the Collective is all about:
Signs are being given. Take chances. Rise up. And go home.
Huh?
Let’s take it one card at a time. The first row of cards represents (from left to right) the energies of past, present, and future.
7 of Air: Witch’s Ladder. A charm made from 7 feathers, each of a different bird, used in spellcasting to make a dream come true. The card symbolizes clues, signs, insight, gratitude, offerings… and that magic is afoot.
9 of Water: Leap of Faith. Being faced with a daunting task. Trust. Determination. Take a leap… carpe diem.
3 of Air: Rise Up. Rise above. See things from a different perspective. Free yourself.
I pulled the fourth card as an outcome card, which answers “What will happen if I follow the guidance of the spread?”
4 of Fire: Hearth Fire. The wisdom of the card in this position: If you come home to yourself, a light will shine within you that burns as bright for those around you.
Interpreting what the Spread means for you
Card 1. Signs are being given, but you must pay attention—and your attention is up for grabs in current times. Mainstream media, social media, every retailer on Earth, and the multitude of family and friends all vie for the spotlight.
It takes intention to pay attention to what serves you best. There is not one single person, company, or information source that has your best interests at heart more than yourself. If you must go outside for answers, let it be to Nature.
Be intentional with your attention, and like the Witch’s Ladder, you can create a path to what you want—it’s not magic, really. It’s choice.
Card 2. This card is showing up in almost every reading I pull. And if it doesn’t come out in the spread, it literally falls from the deck as a “jumper” during the reading. A sign, indeed!
Take a Leap of Faith! Yes, you.
In this deck, the suit of Water represents emotion, relationships, and inner knowledge. Having the 9 of Water show up in the present (center) position is a sign that it’s time to go with the flow, to take action based on intuition over reason. And do it now. Carpe diem. The moment doesn’t last forever if ignored.
Card 3. Rise up and free yourself from the masses and the glut of information being thrust at you. Trust your elevated vision with discernment.
Ironically, The Age of Information has led to The Age of Misinformation. AI, bots, purposeful spread of lies, distortion, and propaganda. And even be wary of what you see with your own eyes: embedded belief systems can blur your true vision.
Card 4: The Outcome, if you follow the guidance of the first three cards.
Before you read the rest, take a deep breath. Sit with your feet on the floor (barefoot if possible) and bring yourself to the present moment.
In a world that beckons you with promises of a new, improved, better way—and flat out tells you that you are not enough as you are—stay home and tend the hearth fire of your soul. Feel the warmth, comfort, and light of your true spirit.
Keep tending that fire when all outside is cold and threatening. Others will see that light and be encouraged to come in and share the warmth…or build and tend their own fires, which will eventually create a circle of light around the world.
When Dorothy said, “There’s no place like home,” she wasn’t only referring to geography. And like the little miss from Kansas discovered…
It’s time to wake from the dream and remember who you are and why you’re here.
Homeward journeys can be daunting, beautiful, or both.
This is the time of year when many people are planning trips. In the upcoming weeks are US Thanksgiving, Chanukah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, Diwali, and more. Maybe there’s a birthday or anniversary to celebrate too. Maybe you’re hosting the event.
Whether the prospect of the approaching holiday season makes your heart leap with joy or your stomach churn with stress, taking a journey home to self in advance can make the situations better.
The journey home is not a one-day event or an item to be crossed off the bucket list. You don’t have to book a flight or buy anything.
For those who flinch at the word “meditation,” think of your journey home as a form of staycation. You don’t need a mantra or a yoga mat or floor pillow.
All you need is some quiet time and a comfortable spot alone to connect with self. It could take the form of meditation. Or journaling. Or walking in nature. It could even be taking a course or reading a book on a subject that interests you.
The journey home to self opens doors you didn’t know existed. You may find yourself at a bookstore, joining a writer’s group, purchasing a sketchbook or canvas and paints. Maybe you’re prompted to clean out a closet. Or learn a new language.
I don’t want to oversimplify or reduce the importance of taking the journey home in this one transmission. Your connection to self is the most important relationship you have and it must be nurtured. It can come to you naturally or with some effort—probably a little bit of both.
And while in essence the journey is a solo endeavor, it doesn’t mean that you can’t seek guidance along the way. The guidance, however, must shed light…not offer answers. Taking a flashlight out on a darkened path will only reveal the pathway. It’s up to you to take the steps necessary to arrive at your destination.
If you’re feeling lost and need some direction on your journey…

Shelley you’re such a wonderful writer! I have several favourite parts - the bit about nature for instance.
“It takes intention to pay attention to what serves you best. There is not one single person, company, or information source that has your best interests at heart more than yourself. If you must go outside for answers, let it be to Nature.”
Overall I love how there is a lot of balance in what you express, and the visionary or ethereal is tempered with a need for agency and self-empowerment.
“Having the 9 of Water show up in the present (center) position is a sign that it’s time to go with the flow, to take action based on intuition over reason. And do it now. Carpe diem. The moment doesn’t last forever if ignored.”
I just wrote a big long comment and it was deleted during the process of posting it. Oh well! The gist of that comment is that I have a general plan, perhaps more of a hope at this point. People who are in the know about such things are telling me how it won’t work. I know I need to hear those things, so I listen. I am a rose colored glasses kind of person and don’t see how things can go wrong. I focus on how things can go right. I need to be able to see both sides of things. That said, I am staying in the place of knowing that things can work out beautifully, and I just don’t know what that will look like in the end. Open to possibility. My intuition says it can work out for me. Policies and procedures tell me it might not. I am still staying open.
