TODAY

Last Sunday’s Full Moon really shook things up, didn’t it? A sudden announcement of change in plans seems to have reignited a smoldering movement to full-blown inferno in less than twenty-four hours. Funny how energy works.
I pulled the above Spread for the Collective prior to the announcement, and in hindsight, it’s easy to claim it foreshadowed the event. But the timing of the spread or the event is not critical here… Cards tells a story and events seem to occur to confirm the veracity.
Yet any astrologer will tell you, it’s not the event that’s important. Reading the stars, the cards, the runes, or any divination method is about discerning what is necessary for change to happen or a lesson to be learned. And conditions will continue to appear and reappear until what is meant to be happens.
So, let’s look at these cards for the message being delivered when I asked, “What does the Collective need to know?”
Messenger of Fire. This card represents the patriarchy. In pure, healthy form, masculine energy is strong, vibrant, and ready to take action. Wounded masculine energy, however, can be dictatorial, greedy, and steeped in self-interests rather than for the highest good—an aspect of the patriarchy that has surfaced and grown for centuries. In the past (left) position, this card suggests that this dark side is on the way out.
Messenger of Water. Myth has it that selkies are seals that take human form and move between water and land. Representing the matriarchy in the present (middle) position, this card indicates movement between the worlds. It is a sign that feminine energy is uniting seemingly disparate factions with messages of peace and integration with firm, but gentle, strength rather than force.
No. 1 The World. In traditional Tarot, the card of The World is the last card in the Major Arcana, not the first. I like this deck because it turns the archetypal journey of the soul upside down, and represents the intended nature of the world, with the matriarchy on top—not in a dominant way, but as the kind, empathic, wise model for how to live together. Also in this deck, the “0” card is called The Pilgrim, rather than the The Fool as in traditional decks. Here The Pilgrim leaves a burning city behind and heads to a more natural environment, free from weights and constraints of the past. And this is significant as the third (right) card, representing the future.
Interpreting the Spread
On a collective level, not much is needed to figure out what these cards suggest for the energy of the world. But what about for each of us on a personal level?
Of course, each individual will have to examine this for her own self, but I can share what it meant for me. Perhaps that will give you some insight as to how to evaluate your own circumstances.
I am in the throes of shift/change. I think many people find themselves in this position now. “As within, so without.” I completed my two-year certification program as an intuitive energy healer on June 12. On June 21, I drove thirteen hours to Fort Lauderdale to see family, but also to release my husband’s ashes on June 23 (which would have been our twenty-second anniversary) per his wishes. He chose the day, place, and time and I facilitated his request in a private ceremony.
It sounds perfunctory written out in the previous paragraph, but it was a highly emotional and transformative experience. I released him back to the earth and set us both free for the next cycle of our soul journeys. I felt his joy as well as my own by no longer being bound by any container (him) or convention (me). That is the “past.”
Upon my return (my present), I began work on a new website bearing my name and becoming home to my new practice as an intuitive energy healer. If you are a subscriber or a reader on this blog, you might remember that this site already had my name as its address. You’d be right. I changed the name of this site to the “generic” subdomain name on Substack, and identified my new website with my name.
That’s the “oops” referred to in the subtitle of this post. When I changed the domain name here, it broke the links on every article (almost 170) I published in the last three years. That’s OOPS, not oops, because it required that I go through each of the previous 167 posts and update. It also broke the all the links to my writing on this site with the search engines. There was nothing I could do about that situation, so I let the anguish go. (I know that sounds mature and sensible, but I came to that decision after several days of thrashing myself mentally…I’m not that evolved—yet.)
What enabled me to release the pain of the mistake was that I believe this OOPS was the Universe’s sign that even my previous work is the past. It’s still relevant, which is why I’m updating the links, but it was borne of a me that is evolving and ready to go deeper into the beliefs I support. So you may see some shifts in focus, content, and delivery. But know that the foundations of my work, both written and lived, remain constant and entrenched in serving the highest good of all.
Also on the upside, the review (which is still in progress) enabled me to rediscover timely messages to repost. You’ve already received some of that benefit in my past two posts. In addition to updating links, I’m adding tags on the back end that make it possible to categorize and organize the posts. You won’t see signs of that on the surface, but I will be sending out links that connect you to previous posts by topic. Handy, huh?
Rather than bore you with technical details (it puts me to sleep on this end), you’ll see evidence of what I’m doing in upcoming transmissions from me. But know that this change is evidence of movement between two worlds in my personal life.
As for the future and leaving a burning city behind, I don’t apply that too literally in my personal life. I can identify, though, with The Pilgrim in taking a position of forward movement towards a New Earth.
Because I’m nosy inquisitive, I did ask the cards another question: What will be the outcome if the guidance of the cards is followed? The card I pulled needs no further explanation:
I hope this helps to support you on your journey. Until next time… My best, Shelley
