Who, What, and Why

Hello, I’m Shelley Lieber, a writer and mystic.

I see and know things most people don’t.

Farsighted since childhood, I step back to see clearly. This position gives me a wider perspective and “big picture” view that can’t be seen up close.

And because I’m also sensitive to sound and energy, keeping a distance between myself and the noisy crowd serves me well.

It doesn’t mean I don’t feel the energy or hear what’s being said. I simply put space between myself and what’s happening to preserve my inner peace.

Most people choose to stand close to what’s happening. They like being in the thick of things.

But it can be noisy and crowded in the center. Positioned there, you can’t hear the most important voice—your own—above the fray.

Standing back lets me see and hear clearly. I observe the seen and I hear the unseen. Then I share the messages I receive with my writing.

Now you know who I am and why I’ve chosen to call myself and this publication The Farsighted Observer.

The Farsighted Observer’s Mission

To be the eyes, heart, and voice championing individual creative growth and expression. To support the gifts of sensitive, empathic, intuitive, and creative people.

Worldwide, many seekers are awakening to their purpose. Conscious and aware, they are coming together to accomplish great goals.

What You Get

As mentioned in the preceding paragraphs, I observe things, and I receive interpretations about what I’m seeing. I share those insights via messages.

You get the messages. Couched in memoir, prose poetry, and essay, here’s how they’re delivered (most of the time).

Week 1: Mini Message. A photo with caption, short note, or a single Tarot card reading.

Week 2: Micro Message. Short-form essay or prose poem.

Week 3: Monthly Message in the Mail. Handwritten micro message on a physical art card delivered via the postal service. (Due to the IRL expense of this format and delivery, Monthly Messages in the Mail are a paid subscriber benefit. You can opt-in monthly or annually and cancel at any time.)1

Week 4: Maxi Message. A long-form essay or excerpt from current work in progress. Paid subscribers will enjoy access to a longer portion of the excerpts. Some essays will appear in full for all readers.
