Why SMUDGE! ?

I believe the 2025 will stand out in history books as more than a quarterly marker in the 21st century. The events of this past year represent a dramatic shift in world politics, in societal systems, and cultural norms—affecting every level of collective and personal living.

Maybe calling it a “dramatic shift” is too soft. Things are broken. And this time, irrevocably. Our lives will never be the same.

It was hard enough to bear the senseless loss of children, teachers, loved ones in unpunished mass murders. Although some of the perpetrators were lost in the killings, no steps were ever taken to prevent it from happening again—no matter how many times the grief-stricken utter, “Never again!”

Now we are living in a news cycle that is designed to both titillate and numb us. First it captures our attention in the moment. Then it repeats often enough that in our minds, we begin to accept the horrors as normal course of events. That’s the downside of “normalize.” Horrors become commonplace.

Yet the succession of murders in one single week of December 2025 proved to be the breaking point for me.

Brown University, Bondi Beach, and Rob and Michelle Reiner. I was brought back to the deep grief I experienced at close of 2020 when I lost my husband to cancer at the height of pandemic isolation and global grief. How I felt after the Parkland and Sandy Hook school shootings1. To the kind of collective grief that permeated post-911 in the United States.

All these years, and nothing changed.

Nothing changed because nothing was done to create change.

But some things cannot be normalized. Some things are not meant to creep into a culture’s acceptance.

So, I’m done with a system that cannot self-correct.

I’m walking away. For me, 2026 will be the “1” year, the one year, that I start creating a world that reflects my true values. (2+0+2+6=10. 1+0=1. A “1” year represents new beginnings.)

And that’s what SMUDGE! with The Energy Sage is about: Clearing. Starting over. Being true to oneself.

What will it take to clear energy in 2026?

For those unfamiliar with space clearing techniques, dried sage bundles and palo santo (“holy wood” from South America) are often burned in energy-clearing rituals. The practice of using these items to banish negativity and restore harmony is called smudging.

But…

You need more than herbs and fragrant wood to clear energy.

You need a Sage, a Mystic—a Person—to infuse the ceremony with intention. Tools are just tools, whether spiritual or the ones bought at Home Depot. It’s the person using the tool that supplies the power.

That person is me, The Energy Sage. It could be you as well. In fact, the more people setting the intention to clear energy, the more powerful the effect.

And I have a formula for us to collectively clear the air in 2026!

What Can Energy Clearing Do for You?

Everything needs clearing at times. You, the air, your home, your workplace, your vehicle. And certainly the environment of this planet, both physically and spiritually.

In very broad terms, bad energy is anything that evokes feelings of sadness, pain, despair, discomfort, illness, or anxiety in you.

Similarly, good energy is uplifting and contributes to you feeling cheer, optimism, love, health, safety, or happiness.

Yet energy is responsible for more than triggering your feelings.

On a personal level, negative energy can manifest as blocks in creativity, discord in relationships, lack consciousness, poor health, chronic illness, inability to heal, overwhelm, and more.

Clearing energetic blocks is the foundational step to improving ease and flow in all areas of life.

And isn’t ease and flow what you want?

Reading and clearing energy is my thing.

I excel in this area. It’s not boasting. It’s recognizing and utilizing my gifts. I see, hear, feel, and know things most people overlook. I read between the lines of literature, people, and situations and intuit the underlying, unseen story.

Even having that acute, intuitive sensitivity isn’t enough. For over 20 years I have studied and trained how to put my gifts into formats that serve myself, others, and the highest good of the planet.

I am certified as an intuitive energy healer, card reader, and aura therapist. I’ve been writing and publishing for more than 30 years.

The Rx for 2026

I believe that as each person clears their own energy and the energy surrounding them, the air purifies and lightens to lift the next person.

To that end, SMUDGE! with The Energy Sage will focus on

Helping you identify sources of negative energy causing blocks and disruptions.
Giving you the tools (it takes more than sage and crystals) to clear the air around you, your home, your relationships, and work space.
Providing a plan to maintain clear air and good vibes for yourself, others, and the planet.

The Plan is where the BIG shift is happening. I’m in the process of instituting paradigm-changing structures and customs for myself, which I’m going to do publicly here and on my personal site (also in the process of revision). You’re invited to observe, join, and support—however you wish. More details to be released in the coming weeks. It will be a IRL, almost live-action documentation of the process.
